Higher education in South Asia is a multifaceted terrain to navigate. In terms of quality of education and governance, all universities have diversified features depending on the respective country’s context and social and economic realities. Some universities are included in the global rankings, while others are not. Similarly, several countries in the region have made significant progress in expanding access and enhancing quality; however, disparities persist in innovation, employability, readiness for artificial intelligence (AI), governance, and internationalization. In addition, no well-structured mechanism currently exists for sustaining knowledge sharing, policy dialogue, and cooperative partnerships among South Asian countries, despite their shared historical roots and similar socio-economic contexts.Against this backdrop, advances in education technology, demographic shifts, and rising socio-political expectations for quality, relevance, and inclusiveness are making higher education both more challenging and more promising. This reality calls for stronger collaboration and network building through a common platform that enables collective problem-solving………
